TED sixth sense technology
In this site called the Sixth Sense, A woman named Patty Maes deomonstrates over a screen what the capabilites of this new technology can do. I thought the video was facinating. You can take pictures with your hands, dial a telephone number with your hands, touch a book and find out the ratings and cheapest prices and do much more that they didn't have time to demonstrate or tell us about. The fact that it can do all these things is facinating, but in order to do these things you have to wear either tape, nail polish or marker caps of different colors is a little wierd to me. Also, another thing I don't like is that it is creating a lazy society. Instead of researching something, you can just touch it? I think our society is already becoming entitled so to have such easy access I don't believe is as much as a positive thing as the TED believers think it is. But the fact that technology has come this far is incredible and there are some really smart and creative people out there to be able to invent this.

I completely agree that it is creating a lazy society! That's a great way to put it. My question is once all that is possible, what do we do with all the old electronics that we have? I'm sure all this will happen some day but I personally hope that it takes quite a while longer to become established.
ReplyDeleteI like that you think the colored fingers idea is wierd, haha. I don't understand how the colors manipulate the machine. It really is crazy!
